Abstract presenters accepted for presentation in the Presidential Symposium will be given the opportunity of a 10-minute oral presentation and are asked to prepare a PowerPoint presentation with a maximum of 10 slides for this presentation (not including title, author and disclosure slides).

General Information and Presentation Information
- Presentation is limited to 10 minutes and 10 slides (not including title author and disclosure slides).
- All session room screens will be in 16:9 format.
- After all Presentations, a discussant will provide a brief presentation, commenting on the strengths and weaknesses of the research studies and placing it in the context of other research/knowledge in the relevant area.
- In order for the discussant to prepare his/her presentation, the oral presenter must submit the presentation slides no later than January 6, 2023, via the online submission system (this date will not be extended).
- All presentation slides must be in English.
- Please be in the room for your session 10 minutes before the start time of the session. The Session Chairs will start and end strictly on time.
Presenting authors must comply with the following guidelines:
- The presenting author must control all content. Commercial interests may not influence scientific content by requiring the use of company slide decks or other materials. Scientific data generated by industry-sponsored research is permissible.
- The content of educational activities must be well-balanced, evidence-based, and unbiased. Generic names should be used to the extent possible.
- Slides, abstracts, and handouts cannot contain advertising, QR codes, corporate logos, trade names, or product-group messages of an ACCME-defined ineligible company.
- Acknowledgments at the close of presentations should be limited to non-commercial entities, e.g., education or research institutions, foundations, patients, other faculty or researchers, and should not include the names of ACCME-defined ineligible companies. Each presentation MUST include a financial disclosure slide. Please proofread the title of your abstract and the names of the authors. This is how your information will appear in the Abstract Book (JTO supplement) and on the Conference website prior to IASLC 2023 LALCA. No changes will be accepted after the December 16, 2022 deadline.

Additionally, you are asked to prepare a poster for display in the Exhibit Hall (see guidelines under “Poster” for more information regarding your poster format).

- After a set of 3 related abstract presentations, a discussant will provide a brief presentation, commenting on the strengths and weaknesses and placing it in the context of other research/knowledge in the relevant area.

Abstracts accepted as Poster Presentations will be given the opportunity to display their work in the Exhibit Hall. We ask that you prepare your Poster following the below guidelines.
Format:
- All Posters Presenters will have a space to place their poster of a maximum width of 100cm and a maximum height of 100cm. The size that you print your poster is at your discretion, as long as you stay within these parameters.
- Your poster must be printed in portrait format.
- Your Poster must be in English.
General Information:
- Tape will be provided for you to fix your poster onto the poster board.
- Your abstract number is not your poster number. Your final poster number will be provided to you at a later date and will be placed at the top corner of the poster board by management.
- Poster must be in English.
- You must print your poster and bring it with you to the Conference.
- The Conference does not offer on-site printing service.
Set Up Time & Take Down Time:
All posters should be put up at the start of the Conference and will be available for viewing throughout the Conference.

Your role as chair of the session is to welcome attendees to your session, introduce the presenters and moderate the discussion at the end of the session.
Responsibilities:
- Discuss with your co-chair who will be introducing each presenter (biographies will be sent to you closer to the Conference dates).
- Keep track of the time for each presenter (a detailed session schedule and a timer will be available on stage).
- Ensure that your session starts and ends on time.
- Have a few discussion points ready in case of no questions from the audience.
Onsite info:
- Biographies will be provided on paper onsite at the start of the session.
- Make sure to be in your session room at least 10 minutes before your session starts.
- A clicker, timer and confidence monitors will be provided.
- Technicians will be available in your session room for support.
Your role as a Discussant is to provide a brief presentation of your assigned abstracts: commenting on the strengths and weaknesses and placing it in the context of other research/knowledge in the relevant area.
To ensure that you prepare your presentation at the best of your ability:
- Abstracts will be sent to you at the beginning of December.
- Slides of the abstract presentation will be shared with you in the second week of January.
Presentation time:
- Poster Discussant: 10 minutes
- Presidential Symposium Discussant: 15 minutes
There will not be a Speaker Ready Room available on site.
We ask that you bring your slides on a USB stick and submit your presentation deck 24h before your session, in your session room. Technicians in the room will be assisting you to upload your presentation slides. If you are not able to submit them 24h before – please submit these at least 2h before your presentation.
The conference organizers will not be collecting presentation slides via email – unless for urgent matters.
- Each presentation MUST include a financial disclosure slide.
- Presenters are strongly encouraged to use the LALCA 2023 presentation slide template: Download Template.
- PowerPoint Best Practices:
- Technical:
- Your presentation must be prepared in PowerPoint2000 or any later PowerPoint Version (MS Windows)
- Set the slide size of the page to “On-screen show” and landscape orientation in the page set-up section. (Portrait orientation will not be displayed properly)
- Formatting:
- Use high-contrast lettering, and not too much text per page (max. 5-10 lines or 15-20 words).
- Font sizes should be no smaller than size 14 or 16 for maximum visibility.
- Make sure you use high-contrast colors for the best definition of your text. Please be aware that red letters or lines are usually not visible.
- Avoid special characters: To avoid any compatibility problems, please do not use special characters (i.e. “, Ö, Ø, ñ, ?, ®, ý, }, { etc) to name your presentation files
- Content and Organization:
- As a general rule, you should not present more than 1 slide per minute.
- Do not read the slides word for word. Visual material provides cues and images to support your verbal presentation.
- Make sure your presentation has a clear flow from introduction to conclusion. Identify key points and why they are important.
- Include take-home points. Consider which 2-3 points you want the audience to remember after your presentation.
- The inclusion of a disclosure slide is mandatory even if you have no conflicts to declare.
- Less is more! Include relevant information on your slides, supplemented and explained by your verbal presentation.
